Description

Our Coeur de Chevre Cendre is a soft-ripened, unpasteurised goat’s cheese. So instantly recognisable and much loved for its lovely heart shape. It is made in the Quercy region of southwestern France where goat herds are allowed to roam freely on the rich grasses of the Gatinais.

This French cheese has fresh, milky aromas, a creamy smooth consistency and melt in the mouth texture. It’s bloomy, edible rind also has a light dusting of ash. French cheese makers use this ash to reduce the acidity level in the cheese therefore encouraging the ripening process.

Traditionally this cheese is left to ripen for 7 days in the cellars. And normally consumed after two weeks of ageing. It can, however, be left for longer allowing the cheese’s naturally salty and slightly spicy flavours to develop and intensify.

Our Coeur de Chevre Cendre is perfect for sharing and makes a great addition to any cheese and charcuterie board. Simply serve with some warm crusty bread, honey, ripe pear and roasted walnuts. Open a bottle of chilled sparkling white wine or a light fruity Beaujolais and sit back and relax. Pure bliss!

This delicious French cheese makes a great gift for any cheese lover and is also the perfect present to give your loved one on Valentine’s Day or indeed any other day of the year!
