Description
Our Halloumi Cheese is produced in Cyprus. And made from a blend of cow, goat and sheep milk just like it has been done for centuries.
Halloumi is unlike most other cheeses in that it has a very high melting point which makes it perfect for grilling or frying. It tastes truly delicious done this way. Simply slice the cheese into thick pieces and brush lightly with olive oil. The outside turns a beautiful golden brown and the inside has a gorgeous creamy texture. Once cooked, this cheese has a lovely mellow savoury flavour with a slightly tangy salty taste.
Your warm grilled Halloumi goes brilliantly with a sweet watermelon and fresh mint salad. Or try serving it on a bed of green asparagus topped with capers and a zingy lemon olive oil vinaigrette.
It is equally good as a satisfying vegetarian wrap or as part of a tray bake full of seasonal vegetables.
You can also pair this squeaky pan-fired cheese with sliced avocado, toasted sourdough, grilled mushrooms and juicy tomatoes. And enjoy as a healthy breakfast. The possibilities are endless.
It has been said that a day without wine would be like a day without sunshine for the French but for Cypriots a day without Halloumi would be a dark day indeed!
So why not cook up a storm of Mediterranean dishes with our delicious Halloumi Cheese.
