Description
Elegant, Rich, Lingering Finish
Meursault, along with Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, are the three most famous villages for Chardonnay in the Cote D’Or. This Premier Cru from Domaine Michelot is found on the mid-slope on the border between Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet.
Domaine Michelot has a reputation for producing wines with clear purity of fruit and stunning depth of flavour. Their vineyards have a mixture of earth and flat volcanic rock which means the vines have to work hard to develop an extensive root system. These conditions bring finesse and a touch of minerality to the wine. This Meursault has pleasing citrus and whipped hazelnut cream aromas with fresh mineral notes. It is rich without being heavy and on the palate has honey and toasted brioche with a long lingering finish.
The Wine Spectator gives it an excellent 90/100 points
