Description

Neufchatel is a soft white Cow’s milk cheese that comes from Normandy in France. With a history dating back to 6th century, the art of creating this lovely heart shaped cheese has been perfected over the centuries. Legend has it that during the Hundred Year War French girls who fell in love with English soldiers gave these gorgeous cheeses as presents to their sweethearts as a way of expressing their love!

This classic Normandy cheese has an edible, velvety, bloomy rind that encases a creamy interior. It has a lovely grainy texture and spreads easily. Matured for 8–10 weeks.

Often likened to Camembert, this French cheese has a slightly saltier and sharper taste. Rich and nutty, it has an earthy, mushroom flavour that is simply delicious.

Neufchatel is perfect for sharing and makes a great addition to any cheese and charcuterie board. Simply spread on some toasted walnut bread. Open a bottle of chilled sparkling wine and enjoy a romantic meal for two. It is also delicious when baked whole and generously drizzled with truffle honey for a totally indulgent treat.

With such a romantic history, this little French cheese makes a great gift for any cheese lover and is perfect to give your loved one as a present on Valentine’s Day.
