Our Black Leg Chicken or Poulet Noir comes from free range French chickens. These are allowed to roam around freely and enjoy a natural diet. As a result, the meat of these black legged birds is rich, lean and packed full of flavour. It has an almost gamey taste that is much loved by foodies and top chefs alike. And is one of the most flavoursome and delicious chicken you will ever eat!
Buying a whole chicken also gives you an endless range of recipes to choose from. From Mediterranean to Asian-style dishes, from herby to spicy chicken, there are so many ways you can enjoy this succulent and juicy bird.
It is an excellent choice if you want to make a classic Sunday Roast Chicken. Simply serve with duck fat roast potatoes, your favourite vegetables and all the trimmings for the best meal of the week. This really is a definite crowd pleaser!

As with any chicken, please make sure the juices run clear after cooking before serving.
Although nearly any food is capable of causing an allergic reaction, only the bellow listed foods account for 90 percent of all food-allergic reactions. These foods are:

- Sulphur dioxide/sulphites, where added and at a level above 10mg/kg in the finished product. This can be used as a preservative in dried fruit
- Lupin which includes lupin seeds and flour and can be found in types of bread, pastries and pasta
- Molluscs like clams, mussels, whelks, oysters, snails and squid

Storage: Put into a fridge as soon as possible after delivery, and consume within 5 days or before best before date on packaging.
Suitable for home freezing – please freeze on day of delivery and use within 3 months. Defrost fully before cooking.
Cooking: Cook thoroughly until piping hot and juices run clear.
