About the Producer
Carlo Botter founded Casa Vinicola Botter in 1928 when he made a living for his family by buying wine from local producers and selling it himself to local restaurants. He was successful and during the 1950’s his sons Arnaldo and Enzo built a winery so that they could bottle the wines themselves.
Today the third generation of the family run the firm, working with some of the best producers throughout Italy. The focus is very much on championing environmentally friendly and sustainable farming policies and the wines show the quality and delicious clean fruit flavours that have resulted from this approach.
This juicy and delicious Sangiovese, the red grape of Chianti, coming from Emilia Romagna just south of Venice, is a prime example of the great flavours in the wines they produce.

Although nearly any food is capable of causing an allergic reaction, only the bellow listed foods account for 90 percent of all food-allergic reactions. These foods are:

- Celery (including celeriac)
- Sulphur dioxide/sulphites, where added and at a level above 10mg/kg in the finished product. This can be used as a preservative in dried fruit
- Lupin which includes lupin seeds and flour and can be found in types of bread, pastries and pasta
- Molluscs like clams, mussels, whelks, oysters, snails and squid

Food and Wine Pairing
As you might expect, the fresh juicy fruit of this Sangiovese is a perfect match for meat pastas, pizza and anything with a tomato sauce. Another excellent match is with dried meats and charcuterie, try with our Saucisson or superb with some wild boar pâté on roughly torn sourdough bread.
