About the Producer
This little privately owned estate lies in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys where the wines differ slightly from the mainstream. The estate is spread over five plots, each with its own soil profile and micro climate, which allows wine maker Eveline Fraser the chance to make unusually complex, multi dimensional wines. Her approach to wine making is modern but also with more than a nod towards tradition so across the ‘Little Beauty’ range you will find the best of the new and the old unite together seamlessly.
Serving Guide: Serve chilled at between 9-10°C or after about 1.5 hours in the fridge. Use normal white wine glasses and don’t pour too much at a time, as keeping it chilled will keep it fresh. If it is too cold, the flavours will be subdued. Drinking beautifully now and will develop deeper flavours over the next 4 years

Tropical Fruits and Lemon Grass
Sauvignon Blanc Little Beauty Black is aptly named. It is a limited edition Marlborough Sauvignon made by former Cloudy Bay winemaker Eveline Fraser. Only the very best grapes from this small winery in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys are selected for this ‘Black’ label range. They are fermented with 100% wild yeasts and aged on the lees in old French barrels. This adds depth of flavour and structure and explains why this Little Beauty fully deserves to be a Decanter’ Gold Medal Winner.
Deep straw in colour, Sauvignon Blanc Little Beauty Black has beautiful aromas of honeydew melon, lemon grass and guava with a smoky, mineral character. On the palate, it is refreshing and medium-bodied with citrus notes balanced by flavours of pink grapefruit and basil. There is a gentle mouth watering acidity that washes through at the end preparing you for the next delicious sip!

Food and Wine Pairing
An aged Sauvignon Blanc like this goes brilliantly with seafood – sip with our Lobster Terrine with Fresh Cream and Cognac or try it with langoustines, prawns or chargrilled squid. Also pairs well with citrussy chicken and pork recipes and is fantastic with creamy goat cheese dishes.
