Description

Veal Fillet, also known as Veal Tenderloin, is a premium cut of meat that comes from young calves. Handcut to order by our Master Butcher, this piece of veal is much more tender and leaner than beef. Pale pink in colour, it has a lovely delicate milky taste and flavour.

Simple to cook, delicious to eat and endlessly versatile, you can roast the fillet whole and enjoy as a delicious roast dinner with all the usual trimmings. Or alternatively you can cut this fillet into medallions or fillet steaks which can be grilled or pan-fried for a quick mid-week supper. However, you decide to prepare this fillet, be careful not to overcook it. Veal is generally best served medium to medium rare and tastes amazing when left blushing pink.

When it comes to veal recipes you are spoilt for choice. Why not create an Italian classic such as Veal Piccata. Sautée your fillet steaks and whip up some piccata sauce by combining lemon, white wine, capers, and butter. This zesty sauce will perfectly enhance the veal’s subtle flavour. Alternatively, you could serve your veal steaks with a creamy mushroom sauce and a generous serving of mash. Not forgetting a nice bottle of wine, of course!

Each Veal Fillet weighs approximately 1.4kg. Vacuum packed for freshness. Suitable for home freezing.
